If you are concerned that your baby is struggling with motor skill development, seems to have trouble understanding speech, or has not started talking at the expected age, we offer early childhood development diagnostics using the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development (3rd Edition).
By presenting tasks in a playful format, we can assess a child's developmental level based on key parameters:
- Gross and fine motor skills (movement abilities)
- Speech (understanding and expressive language skills)
- Cognitive abilities and intellectual development
This diagnostic can be conducted from the first month of life up to 3 years of age.
After the assessment, the child's developmental age equivalent is determined, and recommendations or an individualized correctional program are provided.
About the Method
This methodology was developed by Nancy Bayley, an American psychologist specializing in developmental psychology. She was the first woman to receive the American Psychological Association’s award for outstanding scientific contributions (1966) and initiated one of the largest longitudinal studies of child development.
Through years of meticulous research, Nancy Bayley created the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development, first published in 1969.
- The second edition was released in 1993.
- The third, revised and expanded edition (Bayley-III, 2005) includes not only traditional developmental scales but also parent (or caregiver) questionnaires assessing a child's social-emotional development and adaptive behavior.
